  • What is Special Pricing?

    • Special Pricing refers to any special request for Tuition, Fees, and University Fees (i.e., Activity Fee, Health and Counseling Center Fee, Student Center Fee, and Wellness Fee) that do not follow the University full-time or part-time policy.
    • Special Pricing also applis if a department needs to remap their tuition or fees to a different driver.

  • How is Special Pricing collected?

    • The Office of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) requires that all schools, colleges, and academic departments submit Special Pricing requests via a standard form each academic term. Request forms must be received by the established deadline before the Tuition Calculation process is completed.  All units will have two weeks from the date of the initial notification to submit request forms.

  • What are examples of special pricing requests?

    • Pricing by Academic Program
    • Pricing by Class
    • Pricing by Fees
    • Addng additional fee charges, such as enrollment fees and program fees, should be submitted as a special price request
    • Waving of University Fees for Online & Off-Campus programs
    • Remapping driver worktag or revenue categories

  • How can the price be applied?

    • The price can be a flat rate or per credit rate.

  • Where should the forms be sent?

  • Who must sign the request?

    • Business Officers are required to signoff on all special pricing requests.  New requests must be approved by the Office of Financial Planning and Analysis before special pricing is configured in Canelink. 

  • What if forms are not submitted with the established time frame?

    • Due to the time sensitivity of the tuition calculation process, any submissions past the due date will not be accepted.  Only under extenuating circumstances and with the proper justification will any exceptions for late submissions be considered.

  • How to Complete the Form

    • Select a budget unit from the drop-down list
    • Fill out the submission date
    • Select career options (Undergraduate, Graduate, Non-Degree, Medicine, or Law)
    • Include contact person and contact numberRequest: Select new or existing program

    • Request: Select new or existing program
    • Academic Program: Select the academic program from the drop-down menu list
    • Academic Plan: Specify the academic plan
    • Academic Sub-Plan: If applicable, please specify the student group
    • Student Group: If applicable, please specify the student group
    • Study Agreement: If applicable, please specify he study agreement plan
    • Item Type: Select the item type from the drop-down list. When an item type is chosen, the corresponding Driver/Categories are automatically populated. Please confirm that the item type selected is mapped to the desired driver worktag.
    • Price: Provide the flat rate or per credit rate
    • Additional Fees: Any required fees in addition to tuition need to be completed in this section

  • Pricing by Class


    • Request: Select new or existing program
    • Class details:  Please include the following information if requesting special pricing for a special pricing for a specific course/class:
      • Course ID (6 number ID)
      • Course description
      • Subject area
      • Catalog number
      • Session
      • Class section
    • Item Type:  Select the item tupe from the drop-down list.  When an item type is chosen, the corresponding Driver/Categories are automatically populated.  Please confirm that the item type selected is mapped to the desired driver worktag.
    • Price:  Provide the flat rate or per credit rate
    • Additional Fees:  Any required fees in addition to tuition need to be completed in this section
